Ingredients
- 1 loaf Challah Bread, slice into 3/4-inch slices (I saved the ends to make croutons)
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp triple sec
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen; I used frozen and heated in the microwave for 2 minutes)
- 2 tbsp butter
- pure maple syrup
- powdered sugar
Method
Step 1
Whisk eggs and heavy cream in a medium size mixing bowl
Step 2
Add Triple Sec, Pure Vanilla and Ground Cinnamon
Step 3
Place about half the slice Challah Bread into a shallow pan(I used a cake pan)
Step 4
Pour the egg mixture over the Challah Bread, make sure both sides are evenly coated and let sit for a couple of minutes
Step 5
Meanwhile, place a pad or two of butter on skillet and set burner to medium-low
Step 6
Place soaked Challah Bread slices on skillet, making sure that all slices receive even heat (I have a small skillet so I only put two to three slices on at once)
Step 7
Soak remaining Challah Bread while the first batch cooks
Step 8
I usually place the cooked Challah Bread on an oven-safe plate in an oven set to warm while the second and third batches cook.
Step 9
Plate cooked Challah French toast, serve with butter, warm blueberries, warm pure Maple Syrup and powdered sugar. Indulge and enjoy!
